Tips to Help With Lack of Sleep
HOW TO DEAL WITH LACK OF SLEEP.
As a new mum who loves her sleep as well as Yoga and Massage. I have compiled some tips on how to deal with lack of sleep in every day life wether it be for any reason from busy at work, to having a wedding to being a mum.
“Medical experts have shown lack of sleep affects almost every function from eyesight and brain processing, to mood and appetite-therefore if you are tired remember some compassion to yourself.
THE POWER OF THE REST
Having a nice hot bath, reading a book, listening to some relaxing music these are all ways in getting some rest even if you are having a tough time sleeping.
DEEP BREATHING TECHNIQUES
When you have a to do list as long as forever!!
Count your breath to 10 slow and long and ideally placing your hands on your belly. Noticing on an inhale your belly rises and on an exhale your belly falls.
TIDY BEDROOM-TIDY MIND
If you are having a tough time to fall asleep a great way is ensure that the room is cool, dark and quiet. Also ensuring that your mattress is comfortable so in the words of Goldilocks “just right”. Another good tip to ensure that you keep technology out of the bedroom and staying away from the smart phone in bed.
WRITING DOWN YOUR THOUGHTS
If your mind is still buzzing get a good old pen and paper and write them down always a good way to know what is going on in your mind.
Getting into nature is a great way as you are allowing yourself natural daylight which helps regulate your internal clock.
